Today, I am looking at Whonix version 16. Whonix is a Linux distro based on Debian 11 and is hardened using KickSecure. It uses two components Whonix Gateway and Whonix Workstation to provide an environment which is secure, and tries to the best of its ability to protect your privacy and anonymity. This version brings a number of new features but the most significant is that is is upgraded to Debian 11.
In the last Whonix video I did I showed how Whonix could be installed on Virtualbox, but according to the Whonix Wiki there are some problems with the the BIOS used which is no longer open source and free software. So I will install this on KVM on a host machine which is running Debian 11.
