As expected, we touched a nerve with the "which has better food, Italy or Portugal?" in our latest video. We know that bias can play a role and that's okay but please answer accordingly below. :-)
Help settle this fun one.
Which country has better food in your opinion?

Italy (I'm Italian or of Italian decent)

Portugal (I'm Portuguese or of Portuguese decent)

Italy (I'm a foreigner)

Portugal (I'm a foreigner)

Good Monday Morning, Expats and Travelers. We need your help with a video idea! 😬
How interested would you be in a video about long term care in Portugal? Thinking about, what's available, what it's like, what are the costs. We know there's a significant amount of our viewers that have stated they're interested in coming to Portugal forever, but we don't know how many of you would want to know this kind of information. Video creations these days takes a long time and we want to make sure we're putting out videos that you want to watch.

I'm NOT interested in the topic at all.

I'm interested but probably wouldn't watch a video about it.

I MIGHT watch a video on it.

I WOULD watch a video on it.

I NEED this video in my life. Please make it already!

Earlier this month, the Prime Minister of Portugal dropped a bomb - the famous NHR program will be scrapped in 2024. The announcement was accompanied by the budget proposal that confirmed the end of NHR as of 12/31/2023.

A week ago, we posted a video with Fresh Portugal that over 10,000 people watched, sharing their plan to support people who wish to arrive to Portugal in the last minute and take advantage of the NHR scheme. The service is explained in part in that video.

The end of NHR marks a critical moment for expats in Portugal, perhaps one of the most critical moments so far. If you have not yet secured NHR status and want to, now is the time to act.

You will be able to book Fresh's ACCELERATED TAX RESIDENCY package until the end of this month (that is 7 days from now). After that date, they will no longer be able to support you and will focus on delivering the package to all those who booked it until that date.

Here's the link that Fresh provided us.
 https://freshportugal.com/book_service/accelerated_tax_residency_from=expatseverywhere

Trust me, this is not a flashy sales tactic on our part or some marketing thing where "get it while supplies last" or "limited time offer". Fresh simply doesn't believe they'll be enough time in November and December to fully onboard people and get them through the cycle so that's why they've established the cut-off. It makes complete sense to us and that's why we're sharing this information with you in this way.

Again, if your dream is Portugal and you're thinking of 2025, 2026 or beyond, that's fine. Let's see how this all plays out. This is for those wanting to move now or were planning for 2024.

On today's podcast (Season 2 Ep 3 on Let's Move to Portugal), I discuss this NHR topic with an American financial advisor who lives in Portugal and focuses on people like us who want to live abroad. If you'd like to listen to that to understand the urgency a little better or maybe what kind of person shouldn't panic, please head to https://letsmovetoportugal.transistor.fm/ (the episode will be live in the afternoon in Portugal on Oct 24th)

As of 3:45 PM on October 9th, we are 62 subscribers away from getting a community tab on our new channel, Let's Get Building with Josh & Kalie. On that community tab, we're going to be able to share information about where we are in the redevelopment process of our building since video production creates a lag.

Did you know that we're almost ready to start demolition?

We're going to start that channel with our first days of demolition! Bring your hammers.

Thank you all for the overwhelming amount of support with your kind words of encouragement. It's been very cool to see and feel.

If you haven't already and you're interested in the Vertical Community Venture, please subscribe to that new channel so we can show you the buying and building process here in Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/@LetsGetBuildingWithJandK

I'd love your feedback so we can improve.

On Saturday, we put out a video about Portugal being really similar to a state in the U.S.
The video got clicked on by a high % of people that saw the thumbnail (image) but the average % of the video that was watched was much lower than normal. This means that there was something wrong with the editing or scripting or possibly people felt the title and thumbnail didn't match the content in the video (we don't believe this was the problem).

So my question is that if you saw it, what did you think of it?

Also, you can leave a comment to give further details. I'm trying to get better at this whole video creation thing and bring you content that you'd like to see. We're trying different pieces of content and styles. I want to make something that you want to watch. - Josh

I didn't see the title or thumbnail (image)

I saw the title and thumbnail but didn't watch it

I watched it and liked it

I watched it but didn't like the editing

I watched it but didn't like the style with all of the stats
