U.S Manufacturers are struggling to find workers with the skills needed for today’s high-tech manufacturing jobs. GE Aviation is partnering with schools to help train and ultimately hire more than 2,000 workers nationwide.

Rick Kennedy is a retiree, former Media Relations leader and author of GE Aviation: 100 Years of Reimagining Flight, to be released in June. In his Purpose Talk video, Rick talks about the past century of how GE Aviation influenced the future of flight. 

Every year, GE employees across the United States walk in the March for Babies campaign, raising money for the March of Dimes foundation. It's a mission that has become personal to thousands of GE employees. GE Aviation employee Luke Charleton and his wife Amanda share their story.

Junior aged Girl Scout troops and individual scouts can earn the new GSUSA STEM Mechanical Engineering Balloon Car badge using this video! GE Aviation Engineers will guide you step by step through activities that meet badge requirements. Work “alongside” a troop from Mason, Ohio as they earn the badge. All materials needed are described in the video. Troop leaders and parents (of boys or girls) are encouraged to use this video to engage our next generation of technologists!

GE Aviation is a strong supporter of increasing the number of women in STEM fields. GE launched  #balancetheequation  and since then GE Aviation employees around the globe have been dedicated to creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. An important component of  #balancetheequation  is community outreach, and getting girls excited about entering a STEM field.   


As part of GE’s commitment to engaging girl in STEM is an initiative called “Year of the Girl”. GE Aviation partners with Girl Scouts of Western Ohio to bring together STEM professionals and girls in the Cincinnati area. Girls do fun STEM activities in after school programs, day camps and events at GE. Girls work alongside great role models employed at Aviation. This video is an extension to reach girls outside the Cincinnati area!

U.S Manufacturers are struggling to find workers with the skills needed for today’s high-tech manufacturing jobs. GE Aviation is partnering with schools to help train and ultimately hire more than 2,000 workers nationwide, including more than 250 at GE Aviation in Lynn, MA. 

The Veterans network at the GE Aviation facility near Cheltenham UK organized a giant human poppy to recognize the centenary of the end of World War 1. Around 1,000 employees took part to create these images.

On September 20th, 2017 Hurricane Maria, one of the deadliest hurricanes to ever hit the Atlantic region, made landfall in Puerto Rico with winds exceeding 150 MPH. The storm destroyed neighborhoods and knocked out power across the entire island, in some cases for 10 months after the storm. This past July, third year members of GE’s Accelerated Leadership Program (XLP) travelled to Puerto Rico to participate in the on-going recovery efforts. The 73 employees arrived on the island with one goal: help rebuild the community with their head, hands and heart. 

Get an inside look from the cast members of Roadtrip Nation’s “State of Change” PBS television program, who traveled 829 miles over 14 days, and had the opportunity to interview workers in a range of jobs to find out what led them to their career, what challenges they face, and helpful advice for students looking to break into the workforce.  Along the way, the met a diverse group of professionals, from a venture capitalist to agricultural scientists to Josh Cowan, a GE Aviation technician and military veteran.
