Happy Thanksgiving! Appreciate all of your support over the years! Hope you all have a great day with your families today!

Side note, I get a lot of questions about the magnet strips I use. Harbor Freight has them on sales for Black Friday for the cheapest I’ve seen them at $1.78! I have no affiliation with them, that’s just a crazy low price!

We lost a member of the Rings family last night. Was not expected and happened very fast. He made appearances in two videos, the Flip-Top workbench and the Litter Box hood. Not really sure what else to say but unfortunately it will likely delay the next video a bit, so I appreciate your patience. Been a crazy couple of months. Rest easy big guy, you’ll be missed.

The saw will be kept in its current state, thank you to those who voted and gave feedback, I loved it.

Second, I just wanted to give a quick channel update. I have some personal stuff going on over next couple weeks (all good, just will take up a lot of my time/not allow me to be in the shop as much). Because of that I most likely won’t have a video for June, however I am looking to catch up on website and I have four sets of plans that will be finally put out as I am behind on those. Appreciate all of your patience on everything. I’m really excited about the next video and didn’t want to rush it so look for that to come out sometime in July! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!

Let me know in the poll what I should do with this bad boy!

Just scored a massive saw at a flea market for $10! It’s going to go up on the shop wall as a decoration. Debating if I should restore it or leave it rusty. I’m going to leave it up to the community what I should do with it! I can’t post a poll and a picture in the same post (sigh), so I will have to post the picture in a separate post. If you chose restore, let me know if it would make for a video you would like to see also.

Leave it rusty!

Restore it!

I have been having a lot of ideas of smaller projects or just cool tips I’ve learned that I’d like to share at times, but nothing that I can really justify making an entire video on. I’ve debated making a few shorts videos, but they seem to be so hit or miss and they are something I myself don’t ever watch unless someone shared it. What are your thoughts on shorts for quicker/more simplistic topics? Do you watch them?

Yes, all the time.

Sometimes.

What are shorts?

Thinking about doing a small series at some point down the road around 3D printing tools for the shop. My thought currently would be can I design and print a tool that produces 80% of the functionality/durability for 20% of the cost. (Percentages could change but that’s just the initial idea). Maybe something that is only available now in a premium version that is great for pros but the hobbyist may not find value investing that much into it, however could use a watered down version that would be much cheaper and get close to the pro version. Would that be something you would be interested in? Would that make for a good video in your eyes? Maybe showing the design process, testing parts, maybe even breaking them if made too flimsy?

I’ve been getting a lot of energy of designing parts recently and for those with a 3D printer it would be extremely easy for people to replicate as I would make all the STLs available. I’d make them using PLA or PLA+ just so anyone with a printer could make them and wouldn’t need enclosures or things like that. What are your thoughts on that and would there be any specifics you would like to see? I’ve already been working on a modified version of JessEms stock guides for table saw and router table and that’s what got my brain going down that road. Let me know what you think. Also, would love thoughts on a catchy title for the series if anyone has ideas there as well!

Just wanted to take a second to thank everyone for their patience. I am about five projects behind on videos on projects I have completed and them being posted. I have recently asked for help with editing videos in hopes it increases the quality of the videos as well as allow me to continue making good content for you. Sometimes when I’m behind on making a video I put off editing one that is almost a year old, simply because that is old news to me (even though you haven’t seen it), and I get energized about figuring out the next project instead and I’m working on three different ones in a single day, but to you it looks like I’ve done nothing because the video gets pushed back.

I have also decided to not accept any future sponsorships this year (outside of Patreon) as I hated being on someone else’s timeline and not feeling like I could get my content to you how I wanted, when I wanted.

I will have a lot of shop videos coming out soon so look out for those and let me know your thoughts on the new videos as they come out! Thank you all again for your support, there is some really cool stuff up ahead I’m really excited about and I know you will be too!
