Hey gang, just sharing an update on my podcast Deep Dive. If you haven't already heard, I'm winding down production on it for various reasons (which I outlined in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuB3W... ).

I'm still going to be doing interviews, but I'll be focusing on speaking to people that I really want to meet and learn from, and only doing them when they naturally come up rather than looking to organise a certain amount every month and try to grow the podcast.

If you're interested in entrepreneurship, you might like my recent conversation with Matt Gray, a serial entrepreneur who I really look up to. We talk about my business in depth and he coaches me through a whole bunch of problems. Check it out here, and thank you for supporting the podcast if you have been! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS03Q...

I’ve realised that I really don’t take enough time for myself to do the things that I enjoy.

So from now on, for 1-2 nights a week I’ll be taking the evening off from work/socialising to enjoy some alone time. Latest adventure = Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 🏹

Year Zero.

This is a concept I don’t hear discussed outside of small creator circles. Let’s talk about it 👇

Every time you start a new project, like launching a business, learning a language, or starting a YouTube channel, you enter Year Zero.

This is where you don’t see the results you want, even though you’re working on your project every single day.

Year Zero is like a desert that you have to cross to get to the oasis on the other side. And because we all want overnight success, most people give up in the middle of the desert.

And this is the reality of staring a YouTube channel. Year Zero is where most people give up.

But it's a lot easier when you learn from others who are on the other side of the desert, who have made it through Year Zero. They can share invaluable lessons that can help you keep going and shorten the journey.

So if you’re looking to start a YouTube channel this year, then I might be able to help.

My $1 foundation course gives you everything you need to get your channel started and succeed long term. If you take the course and don't get value, we'll refund the $1 as well 😜 Take a look here: https://go.aliabdaal.com/commar29

We're almost a quarter of the way through 2024...

And at the end of each quarter, I love to do a quarterly review.

I do weekly check ins every Sunday, but occasionally I need a longer reflection session to review what's happened so far this year, write down the lessons I've learned and check in on my progress towards my goals.

This time, I want to do it with you! I'm hosting a free webinar on the 20th April where I'll do a quarterly review with 1000s of people on a call, which will hopefully be lots of fun.

If you're interested in joining me then check out this link here! https://go.aliabdaal.com/commar28

Has anyone ever told you to say ‘yes’ to everything?

It's important to make the most of opportunities which come your way, but if you’re anything like me, you quickly find yourself overwhelmed with commitments and responsibilities.

So, how do we find a way to work out what really deserves our time?

My favourite method comes from the writer and musician Derek Sivers, which he calls ‘hell yeah or no’. His advice is as follows: when you find yourself weighing up whether to take on a new project or commitment, you’ve got two options – either ‘hell yeah’ or ‘no’. There’s no in between.

Thinking like this helps you see that 95% of commitments are ones you should reject. Most of them are usually along the lines of ‘This could conceivably be useful or semi-interesting, so yeah, why not?’. But think about how much you have on already. If it isn’t a ‘hell yeah’, it’s not worth doing.

This way, your calendar doesn’t become a nightmare, and you have more time and energy for the things that really matter.
