It's an odd thing to have had a wild crazy hairbrained idea and then to have accomplished it. It feels a little anticlimactic, surprising, honorable,  back patting good and yet sometimes lonely!
.
We had the best adventure ever, but we left the community of those who understand what it's like, yet we're so thrilled to be in a new community.  But a new community of people, although awesome,  will never understand all we went through.  
.
It also feels odd to have had a dream for years upon years, one you dreamed of at night,  studied with every free minute,  watched others do, and then finally get to check it off your list.  
.
Now what?!?!?!

The last few photos I took of MV Illuminate at a dock in FL with my family living aboard.

I'm not sad, I'm not happy. I'm enjoying the journey.  No matter where it takes me.

Anchoring just off Dunmore Town,  Harbour Island was one of the coolest things we've ever done.  We could have spent a whole season in this one place. The first photo is the lone tree.  Oh, the stories I have of that tree.  It's in every guidebook, "what to see," in DunmoreTown. 
.
It's even listed as a top tourist destination. Truth is,  it's really cool,  a large driftwood stuck in the sand after a hurricane and stayed there to look like a tree, it's really cool and beautiful. 
.
 But a top tourist destination.... I'm not convinced.  I've never seen anyone going to it,  photographing it,  looking at it,  and it's just off the end of a road in town.  I don't even see a sign for it, which makes it hard to find. 
.
So the funny story is,  last season, with all my buddy boats, we spent all day going around the island trying to find it.  And we all laughed when we saw the lack of actual appreciation for it.

HURRICANE UPDATE &

Hurricane Nicole, hit the east coast as a Cat 1 (75-95mph winds) about 3am. It came in hot and heavy in the middle of the night Wednesday.  We were up all night, along with most all of the other boaters in the marina.
.
What seemed like every hour a cleat would break or a piling would snap off. We were never in eminent danger,  but we had to be 100% attentive to the gusts and listen and feel for the lines to move how they should, or we knew we had to go readjust,  retie or find something else to tie off to. 
.
Everyone in our marina was safe and sound with little to no damage, but come 7am, we all went inside as the sun came over the trees, to take a nap. 
.
With little to no sleep, lost of power and internet issues locally,  we didn't get a video up in time. But do plan to share our journey with yall every Friday!

We may need to move slips when the winds die down so we can retie to unbroken pilings.
