Some of my favorite subjects to learn about are those that are interwoven with history in ways you would never guess. Today's video about Lorenzo and Giuliano de Medici was like that. We discovered in our research that Giuliano *may* have had a love affair, and at the very least a friendship, with Simonetta Vespucci, the muse of Boticelli and the model for some of his most famous works, like the Birth of Venus. Simonetta was also cousin to Amerigo Vespucci - the explorer for whom "America" is named after. Another interesting one was that Giuliano was the father to a very famous Pope - Clement VII. You may remember clement from the Tudor drama - he was the one that Henry VIII was working against when trying to separate from the Catholic church.

The Louvre just completed a fabulous restoration of the famous Holbein portrait of Anne of Cleves. It's amazing how vivid the colors are! What do you think of the restoration? Slide 1 is after the restoration, and slide 2 is before cleaning.

Empress Sisi video is out now. Truly one of my favorite subjects we've worked on lately. What a funny, quirky personality Sisi had. She was a joy to learn about. https://youtu.be/kjFgzLGr3Gc

This year I really want to concentrate on making more modern-day versions! I didn't realize how much you all loved them. My goal is to have every figure in the modern day as well as the past.

A lot of the photoshop skills that I've picked up over the years have been thanks to Skillshare, which is a huge learning platform for creatives. If you're interested in a free trial of Skillshare you can get one right here: https://skl.sh/royaltynowstudios01241 . I truly love this service and wouldn't recommend it if I didn't use and love it myself :) Right now I'm also challenging myself to learn Blender. Maybe you'll see some 3D historical figures in the future! ;)

Those of you who guessed Mozart in the preview were correct! He was actually one of our favorite subject's we'd done in a while. He was famous for his quirky personality and dirty sense of humor, so he's a really fun character to follow in history. Some of my favorite Mozart stories:
- He broke up with his soon-to-be-wife for a few days when he caught her having her calf measured by another man at a party
- His former love ignored him at a party, so he immediately sat down at the piano and sang a little tune: "The one who doesn't want me, can kiss my a**"
- His friends said he was always moving and fidgeting. He would be mid-conversation with a friend and then jump up, filled with inspiration, and have to run to the other room to write down a melody.
