Next vid is about "Why Some Designs Are Impossible to Improve". Title might change slightly. But anyway, which thumbnail would you most likely click? A, B, or C? Don't overthink it. Just see which one catches your eye and makes you curious to click.

I'm thinking of making a video that discusses designing for other cultures, and why it's really difficult, or even impossible. A commonly cited example is the Hippo Roller (a way to transport water in Africa). Or the One Laptop per Child initiative (a $100 laptop for developing countries). Both companies tried to design for a developing nation that they didn't understand. They both failed. The iPhone and McDonalds are good examples of successfully adapting a design to different cultures, although these "successes" also have problems of their own. Are there other examples you can think of? Or any books/videos/articles that discuss the successes and failures of designing cross-culturally?

I was thinking of doing some design portfolio reviews on live stream. Would you watch them?

Next video is "The Genius Behind Iconic Everyday Objects". Does anyone have advice on books, websites, articles, videos/documentaries, or anything else that might discuss this topic in more depth? I want to research designs that are so effectively designed for their purpose that improving upon them seems nearly impossible. Things like paperclips, the GE light bulb, scissors, clothes pins, clothes hangers, the Coca Cola bottle, aluminum soda cans...all very well designed things that seem to fall into the background. Once you're shown how to use them, just about anyone can use it effectively. They tend to be simple both in form and function. So once again, if you have any books, websites, videos, documentaries, articles I can check out, please let me know!

Which thumbnail would you click on? Don't over-analyze. Which one caught your eye? A, B, C, or D? Leave a comment. The vid is about how governments use design and art as a tool for propaganda. Vid will drop very soon.
