Exactly 8 years ago today, I quit my day job working at a bank. They thought it was an April Fool's joke, and as soon as they realized that I wasn't kidding, almost everyone there told me I would fail 🙂 I would come crawling back in a couple of months because music is a hobby, not something you do for a living.

It was a scary moment for me, and it took me a while to take the leap. It feels wrong to escape the 9 to 5 grind, doing something you don't love, being absolutely miserable - because that's what we're taught to do.

8 years later, I just woke up to have green tea on a  trip to Réunion Island (never heard of this cool place before - it's close to Mauritius) and I'm looking forward to playing a week of shows there 🤘 Thanks to your unending support, every day is an adventure now, and I get to travel the world, write songs, play guitar, go on tour, and do all the fun things I dreamed about as a kid - while being financially free without a boss that tells me that I have too many tattoos 😬

If you're reading this and you're stuck in a job that makes you miserable, please find a way out - I know that it seems impossible at first (everyone around you will remind you of that every step along the way) but it's worth the struggle, and I believe in you 🙌 There are so many exciting possibilities for the modern musician, and if music is your greatest passion, I really hope you will take advantage of them.

Hope to see a lot of you on tour next year (I will announce the dates very soon), and some of you on Réunion Island for the shows this week. Let's do this!
