Just wanted to say a couple things about my sort of "format" change as of late, since I'll be releasing a new video within the hour that's another "at the bench" type. I hope everyone's enjoying these, but I did want to make it clear that I'm not pivoting entirely to this style. I'm still making scripted videos that I shoot at my studio (editing one right now, in fact) but I realized a few weeks ago that there are enormous quantities of things that I'd like to show to you that just can't sustain that kind of formal creative process.

After a couple years of frustration with this, a few weeks ago I tried shooting an off-the-cuff video about something I _knew_ I couldn't script out. It worked, and it was so much easier than I expected that I just went ahead and shot four more in rapid succession. That's why my bench in the new vid will still be a mess, in fact - I cleaned it up two weeks ago, but I'd already recorded three videos before then. I also hadn't really fully worked out how to shoot this kind of video, so I'm still missing focus and stuff, but trust me - I get better at it. :p

I'm a bit worried though, if I'm honest. I never know if anyone really comes to my channel for the production values, if that makes sense, and while I don't intend for these new videos to be "lower quality", you can tell there's less _effort_, because there just isn't room to fit it anywhere. They're just simpler subjects. And obviously, with these being so much easier to make, I'm more likely to post this sort of video than my usual style, and that makes me worry that it looks like I'm giving up and phoning things in, and that's not it at all.

Every one of these videos is something you _wouldn't have seen if I hadn't shot it this way,_ and plus, I've been on a weekly release schedule for longer than I ever have before. Neither of those seem like bad things, but you tell me. Put simply, is this making you want to see my channel on your homepage less? Lemme know, and thanks for watching.

Hey everyone, happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate. Here's how mine went: I got appendicitis.

I'm doing fine, surgery went great, no complications, not even in too much pain... but i can't lift anything for four weeks. So I guess I'm on an involuntary holiday hiatus.

Thank you all again for watching. I look forward to getting back in the saddle, probably in the new year at this point, though I may do some low energy streams from home before then. See you when I do!

Hey everyone, it's been a while since my last video, and I just wanted to let you know it's because I'm working on a very, very big project. Might be another week or two, but I think it'll be worth it. Thanks for watching, and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

P.S.: If anyone out there has the special BNC board for marrying a Toaster 4000 to a Flyer, please get in touch! My email is on my about page.

Hey everyone! I'm always saying I'm not the best source for "check out this random PC" videos, but Mike is doing a bang-up job at exactly that over on his channel. I'm excited to see what comes out of this haul over the next six months. Check him out!

I hit the vintage computer JACKPOT!! Over 200 systems... and I bought them ALL!

Hey everyone, thanks for watching. Just wanted to remind you all that I have a little side channel where I mostly put up random scraps, but I also occasionally stream old videogames, like I'm doing right now. https://www.youtube.com/c/CathodeRayDudeGaiden

Hey everyone! I just got back from a week vacation in California, where I visited multiple *warehouses* full of vintage electronics, as well as some fellow collectors. It was a wild time, I saw a lot of stuff I'd never seen before - and I just uploaded a 3.5 hour video of the trip as a Patron exclusive. So if you haven't gotten enough Extremely Long Videos from me, subscribe today for an even longer one!

EDIT: The VOD is now available as a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNhb7...

"Hey Gravis, I wanted to watch the VOD of the live show, where'd it go?"

Unfortunately for privacy reasons I had to make the VOD unavailable. A piece of information was leaked by accident and I just found out Youtube's edit tools don't work on a video this long.
I WILL be reuploading the individual segments on my side channel, appropriately redacted. To anyone who left comments, I did read and appreciate all of them, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

My big (eight hours long!) live show is tomorrow! Show up at 9:30 (AM, PT) if you want to hear my opening monologue, and stick around if you want to see some things that will only be here at the studio for this one day! You can click this link if you want a reminder, I think:

I am doing a big live show here on Youtube, on the 7th (this Sat!) to celebrate my 100K subscriber milestone, and I'd like to know if you're gonna be there, so fave this if you plan on watching!

It'll run from about 9:30 AM-6:30PM Pacific, so you'll have plenty of chances to drop by.

This time, it won't be 12 hours of troubleshooting! I have much better hardware, an actual plan and schedule, a crew, and everything will be *tested ahead of time.* It'll be different than anything I've done before, and I'm SURE it'll be it's own kind of disaster, but I think it'll be fun!

Hope to see you there!

About 20 minutes ago I got my 100,000th subscriber. Thank you all so much for watching and enjoying my work. In less than 18 months my audience has grown by 20 times, and I just can't wrap my head around that.

In all that time, with all those eyes watching, the most astonishing thing to me is still how kind everyone has been. I've received over TEN MILLION views and tens of thousands of comments, and as frustrating as the mean ones are, they're few and far between; almost everyone seems to be here for the same reason as me, to just enjoy discovering new things.

Overall, this has been a deeply rewarding experience for me. I hope it has been for you as well, and I intend to continue stepping up my game in this next year to make sure it stays that way. See you in the next video!
