Hey, it's me again! In case you missed it, I posted a "Best Games of 2023" style video last week. I was quite happy with how it turned out but I must admit I was surprised at the lack of attention it received. Don't worry, it takes a lot more than that to hurt my feelings haha. I'm posting this poll in hopes of narrowing down the reason for the weak reception so I can pivot as necessary moving forward. If you could spare a moment and kindly select whichever response fits your reaction best, I'd really appreciate the feedback.

I enjoyed the "Best Games of 2023" video (keep it up!)

I wasn't aware this video was posted (blame Youtube!)

I'm not interested in this style video (stick to retrospectives!)

I already got my fill of these videos (you posted too late!)

The video wasn't good enough (make better content you fraud!)

On Monday the 29th, I'll be posting a casual "Favorite Games of 2023" style video here (early access on Patreon right now). It was a lot of fun to discuss more modern games that aren't Zelda/Bioshock and I sincerely hope you enjoy it. In the meantime, I thought it would be interesting to poll you all to see where my audience stands. What was your favorite game from last year? Obviously it's impossible to list every single option; I used what I consider to be the 3 frontrunners and you can comment your pick if it falls under the "other" category. I'm expecting a Zelda breakaway simply due to the nature of my channel, but maybe we'll have a surprise upset.

Baldur's Gate 3

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

I'm thrilled to announce that my Majora's Mask Retrospective will be public right here on Friday 9/1/23 at 3pm Eastern/12pm Pacific. I sincerely appreciate your patience in sticking with me waiting for this video and I really hope you enjoy it! I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally release it into the wild after sinking countless hours in.

P.S: If you’d like to contribute to the channel and the work I do here, or if the 3 day wait is just too much to bear, I do have a Patreon where you can watch the video right now. In no way do I expect financial contributions from my viewers, but I am incredibly grateful for any tips I receive there.

Hello! I just wanted to check in and apologize for how inactive I've been for the past year on this channel. To be honest I was just lacking the motivation to make videos and so 2022 turned into a bit of an unplanned hiatus. At this point, this channel is just a hobby for me, and I hope you understand that I didn't want to push myself to work on videos if I wasn't enjoying the process.

The other reason I wanted to make this post is that I've hit 1000 subscribers! While this may sound low compared to some of the other gigantic channels out there on YouTube, this is a huge deal to me. It's staggering when you stop and actually think about how big that number is and what a crowd of 1000 fans actually looks like. Wild stuff! I can't thank each and every one of you enough and I wanted to reassure you that this channel is far from dead.

This new wave of attention has me excited to get back to making videos and I don't anticipate another hiatus anytime soon. I had previously promised that my next video would be the Bioshock Infinite retrospective and I'm going to stick to that even if it's a bit of a disappointment for the new Ocarina of Time crowd. That video has absolutely exploded in the past month so I hope to get a Majora's Mask follow-up out afterward. Looking at my analytics now, it's funny to remember that not too long ago my Zelda retrospective series was totally buried in the shadow of the Bioshock videos. That's certainly not the case anymore so I can't wait to get that next Zelda video out but understand that these take me a long time to make. I really appreciate your patience.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and I hope you are looking forward to more Bioshock, Zelda, and maybe even some surprises on the way too!
