Sorry for the changes over the past year to my youtube profile picture.

(I know it can be annoying trying to differentiate whose content is who's when someone is always changing it) This new one is more permanent. I just wasn't feeling the last one!

New video on tuesday :)

Folks, incase you missed it our new and improved community discord is now live. ( https://discord.com/invite/waydot )

Come join like minded MMO players and individuals, we want to foster a community for all MMO enjoyers and have specific sections for various popular MMOs allowing you to find groups, people to chat with, and ask questions from more veteran players.

Also, I'm very active on discord basically all day every day so if you would ever like to chat with me, this is definitely the best way to do so. You can also get notifications when new videos release and whenever I go live (which I will do more often at some point i promise)

Come join us and hangout, were starting small but hoping to grow into a really enjoyable MMO hub for players of all types of varieties, skill levels, games, etc.

Currently working on the new and improved Waydot community discord server.

The old one with over 1300+ members has served us very well over the past 2 years, however that one will be retired to be a discord mainly for Runescape 3, and the Runescape 3 clan.

The new discord will be a larger hub for like minded MMO players to meet new people and friends to game with. We welcome veterans and new players alike for whatever your MMO of choice may be!

Also while I have an excellent mod team currently, we will probably be looking to expand the moderator role to a few more individuals especially people who are highly competent in their specific MMO.

Keep an eye out in the coming videos as I will be announcing the launch of the discord sometime this month.

See you guys then :D

Folks, I need to clear the air about something. I was considering making this it's own video and I still might, but people seem to be heavily confused on how and why I rate certain monetization systems in games differently. I understand that this might come across as hypocritical when I for example criticize LOTRO's monetization quite heavily, and then not criticize BDO's monetization as much.

There really is a simple reason for this, In the "New Player, First Impressions" series (if you will) I am rating the game on how coerced I personally felt to spend money. In Lord of the Rings online I felt like every other corner I turned I was asked to give the game money whether that be for quest packs, inventory space, random keys to open random boxes that kept appearing in my inventory... In BDO this was not the case, AS A NEW PLAYER I felt almost no reason to spend any real money, all of my progress felt legitimate and the game never really asked me to spend money beyond the season pass which had excellent free rewards alongside it.

At the end of the day I will always be a harsh critic of monetization in MMORPG's I think it is singlehandedly the worst aspect of every single video game in this modern day and age of gaming. That being said, some MMO's do a much better job of not shoving it in a new players face, than others. Even if those MMO's in the end game have a more predatory monetization system.

When I return to some of these games and do a more full review in which I actually play into the endgame, if those monetization methods stand out to me as worse in that scenario then yes I will mention it.

Thanks all for watching and I will continue to try my best to provide fair and authentic first impressions for people looking to try out these games.
