A Soldiers Nightmare

 I saw my friend mutilated after using the respawn machine but still alive screaming. He was the only friend i had in the war and he got out and tried attacking me like he didn't know who i was. I shot what i knew wasn't my friend until i ran out of bullets and started running as fast as i could until i hit a dead end.
I remember my death to that creature, it ripped my arm off and ate it then my legs. It looked at me and punched right through my chest ripping out my heart then ate it then what i dreaded the most happened. I was caught in-between the respawn state, i was in what looked a endless sewer tunnel with other dead comrades. They had their injuries and one didn't even have a head, arm, or leg but was still moving.
After closer inspection of them they seemed scared, afraid and didn't know what to do. I saw my dead wife sitting in front of me i couldn't take it anymore i grabbed my pistol and shot myself then awoke in the respawn room. 
I looked around hoping that thing wasn't near the room when i made sure the coast was clear. I booked out of the respawn room and while running down the hall i saw a little girl afraid, fearful, and sad curdled in a ball in a corner as i saw the creature getting closer to her.
I knew it was going to do something but it did nothing to her. It just looked at her confused what she was doing it just stared. I found a knife on a dead soldier and without a second thought i stabbed it in the back of the head.
The creature didn't die it just turn to me and i saw why it didn't attack her. It may had looked like a nightmare from hell but it still had the past soldiers mind.
It looked like it wanted to escape its body and live a normal life again but it knew it couldn't. Soon it feel over lifeless do to blood loss, and the little girl ran to me and hugged me tightly. I knew by her expression she saw more than a little girl should.
