DUNE VIDEO! I absolutely LOVE how Dune explores its themes through the very substance of its world. I find it interesting that I actually have a hard time connecting to Dune's characters compared to most fantasy stories, but it's really the meaning behind the history they're living as expressed in the world and events that carries me through. I'd heard this kind of copyright abuse was a risk with any anime content, but I didn't realize Ghibli was one of the most notorious offenders. Since they only decided to take it down after 3 weeks once it started picking up in views, the plan is to delete the original vid and reupload it and hope ghibli doesn't notice. Luckily it was a copyright block, not a strike. That means ghibli content will be on pause for now so that I can keep the ghibli video count at 2. This way, even if they decide to issue strikes, they'll only be able to do 2, so my channel won't get deleted. (I'm reuploading the bonus segment to patreon directly and deleting the original, because apparently it's possible to find unlisted videos via Content ID and issue strikes.) PLEASE if ANYONE knows a way I can get my channel and/or specific videos blocked in Japan, please please reach out to me! Or also if anyone knows any contacts at Youtube that might be able to help me with that, or other youtubers who have succesfully done this, please put me in touch with them!
