When the students at The Piney Woods School in Mississippi learned about human rights defenders, they didn’t just listen to lectures or write reports – in a way, they brought them to life. Eleven students researched and wrote monologues about Mississippi civil rights icons, including Medgar Evers and Fanny Lou Hamer, presented in moving performances.
