Admittedly, the museum isn't exactly on your doorstep if you live in Europe, but if you do end up in the southwest of the USA (perhaps because you want to escape the winter at home and it's better there in the sun at a pleasant 20°), then here is a little insight into the Pima Air & Space Museum, where you can easily spend a few hours and which really offers a wealth of aircraft (military and civilian) in expansive halls and a spacious open-air area.
Various planes are real rarities or even unique items.
The beautifully restored B-17 is located in its own hall and this offers a wealth of information, photos and displays about the B-17 and its unit and its missions.
In addition, you can at least put your head into many of the hatches to enjoy the inner workings of the plane!
Otherwise, as I said: A lot to see and be amazed at - especially the large aircraft like the B-29, the B-52 or the B-36 in the military sector, but also the Boeing 747 and 787 Dreamliner are impressive if you look directly when you can get close and under it - yes, you read that right: you can get to and under all the exhibits, there are no barriers here. Very exemplary.
This also applies to the SR-71A... here I would have liked to have something like a gallery in the hall so that one could view the good piece from above. But it's really impressive when you stand underneath and can look at and touch every detail.
In total, the museum offers over 350 aircraft and the area of space travel is also covered in its own hall with some exciting exhibits.
And for tank fans, the creation of a tank museum next to this one is currently being planned and worked on - it will be interesting to see when it will open its doors - then the trip to Tucson will definitely be twice as worth it.
