It seems a little ridiculous to upload an a level results day video when I did not even sit the a level exams, some computer algorithm decided my grade for me and for 100,000s of other UK students. A little odd to cry or laugh and be happy or be sad about grades that in comparison to what is going on in the world currently, are actually not so important after all, but when a uni place is something you have wanted to for years it is emotional if it does or doesn’t happen. Some people won the algorithm lottery or the post code lottery, many more have not. These results are going to be looked at with scepticism as we are the ‘covid cohort’ forever. But this is not the end of it, appeal your results, write to the MPs, sign petitions, protest, do not stay silent. Also, be proud for everyday you made it into sixth form as that in itself is honestly such an achievement. If you got that uni place, apprenticeship, job or are just going to chill for a year, the biggest congrats!! If it didn’t go so well, I hope you find something else, something even better and more suited than the original plan. Many of you have been following my little channel since pre-GCSE so it is mad you are watching me finish high school education and onto the next chapter!
