Testing and comparing the AMD Radeon VII and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti in 20 games from 2015 - 2023 using a modern gaming PC. Support Iceberg Tech: https://www.patreon.com/icebergtech The Radeon VII was a short-lived attempt at a flagship during a rough spot in AMD’s history; when it launched, it only managed to compete with Nvidia’s second tier card in raw performance, and lacked fancy new RT and hardware upscaling features. It perhaps compares more favourably to the old GTX 1080 Ti, a card for which AMD had no answer at the time. In this video, I speculate what would have happened if - somehow - the VII had in fact launched to compete with the 1080 Ti back in 2017, and whether it would have put up a serious fight - or if the battle for the top was one that AMD wasn’t equipped to win, even if we let them cheat.
