On June 3rd 2019, there was a violent attack on the streets of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. More than 100 people were killed. There were no official records of what happened, but we spoke to a team of BBC journalists who were able to find and verify hundreds of videos filmed on phones, and hold those responsible to account. This is the story of how those journalists reported the attack and verified all of the information they received to make sure that the story they were telling was right.
This series, made in partnership with Microsoft Education, BBC Learning and Angelina Jolie, will give you the tools to fact-check stories and spot fake news, so you can make your own decisions about what to read or watch, and what information to trust.
