Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerrero traveled 300 feet below the surface in a submersible. The $3.5 million submersible, named the Triton, is owned by millionaire philanthropist and entrepreneur Carl Allen. Her journey began after landing at Allen’s privately owned island in the Bahamas. After a mandatory safety briefing with the crew, it was time to launch Triton. Compared to OceanGate’s Titan submersible, Allen says he feels Triton is impeccably safe and has never been in an accident. Guerrero’s journey to the seafloor took about 40 minutes and the submersible made a safe return to the surface.
