In this video I make the drawers including handles for the Tool Cabinet.
To make the drawers I have used dovetail construction to make them nice and strong. I have also made wooden handles from some of my off cuts of oak. I like making wooden handles as they feel nice, blend in well and are more expressive than most bought in handles. I have made slot in bases for the drawers following fairly traditional constructional techniques, and I was fortunate in having a supply of chestnut left over from a friends trug making project, that was well suited for this. I have had to join some of the planks of wood together to make the drawers and to do this I used my Record number 7 Jointer Plane. Its a huge beast, but does a splendid job. In this video I also provide some thoughts on sharpening plane blades.
