Many of you have asked the question, why all the interest in RISC-V? How does it compare with x86, or ARM CPUs. So today I will attempt to answer that question, I do want to mention I did not go into a big long discussion of predicate execution, not because I was trying to gloss over it, but rather I didnt want to put you to sleep talking about it. If you want a more in-depth the easiest way to explain it is the Vector processors, some SIMD ISAs (such as AVX2 and AVX-512) and GPUs all rely on it heavily.
