So, the collector terminal is common between the input and the output. (Hence, it is known as the Common Collector Amplifier) This configuration is also known as the Emitter Follower because the output at the Emitter terminal follows the input signal. Emitter Follower Characteristics: The emitter follower has a voltage gain of less than 1, but it provides high input impedance and low output impedance. Hence it is used as a buffer in the amplifier circuits. In this video, the expression of the voltage gain, the input impedance, and the output impedance is derived for the emitter follower.
