It looks more like they're playing than fighting. When the mother bison comes running to the calf's rescue, the wolf's hope of snatching the calf comes to an end. It takes a big wolf pack, of 5 to 10 wolves to take down an adult bison. A successful bison hunt usually relies on having bigger, more experienced males in the wolf pack. Wolves learned to kill bison and killed more bison where elk were absent or scarce. Experts predict that wolves that have learned to kill bison will kill them more regularly, at least in the spring. The result of this study indicates how adaptable wolves are at killing prey species new to them. Wolves are masters at isolating prey, and this is what they do in this video when they slowly surround one of the bison while chasing it. They even get some help from another bison, when he crashes into his friend and knocks to the ground. It becomes for the wolves to finish the bison off. Wolves VS Coyote These wolves pursue two coyotes, and if they are caught, they are toast. Coyotes are no match for a single wolf, let alone a pack of wolves. Once the coyotes are caught, they are eliminated and eaten. The other coyote flees for her life, and when she knows she is no longer in danger, she howls, knowing full well that she has lost her partner.
