A look at what happens to a plane and the pilot during a forced landing. The crash was near the fuel farm and that day the Fire Department was checking so they were on hand as well as a line boy what was an EMT. While Mike the EMT calmed me the firemen call for the Air Care chopper at our field and they came and got me and flew me to UC's ICU. The nurse on the chopper would earn the Florence Nightingale award (not for my case) and there was an MD on board as well. These people earned my thanks that day. This fast response if what I believe allowed me to stay on the side of the living. I was touch and go in the ICU for several weeks before I turned the corner and could go to a Long Term facility.
