#foraging #wildfood #wildgarlic This was an impromptu, unplanned UK foraging tips video from instructor Richard Prideaux. From February onwards we see people out in the woods foraging for Allium ursinum, AKA Wild Garlic, AKA Ramsons, AKA Buckrams etc etc. While it is a great choice for keen foragers and a good wild food resource there are also some hidden dangers. In February and March another, toxic plant (Arum maculatum) will be found in exactly the same places you will find Wild Garlic. As you can see in the video, the young leaves look very similar and can easily be confused for each other. Take care when foraging for Wild Garlic in early spring, and be 100% sure of the identification of what you are picking before you eat it.
