At the end of this summer, we went with a team to the Oudis in the Alps, to film my live performance of 4 tracks from my EP Flocons. Welcomed by my very good friend Marius Roux, who is also shepherd in the Oudis, we were able to shoot at the sunset, right next to his herd. With his cameras, Florent Forestier managed to capture this precious moment and the beauty of the place while Ludovic Roux aka Drone Assist and Romain Courtaud were flying around the mountain tops with their drones. Thanks to them, I am proud to share this live performance with you along with some beautiful images. Please, like and share !!!! — Project growing Bark's music is deeply connected to nature. When I composed Flocons, I wanted each piece to be related to one of the four seasons: Flocons for winter, Brame for Fall, Chartreuse for Summer and Erosion for Spring. Shooting a live video in the middle of nature, and moreover in the middle of the mountains, became obvious. When my friend Marius offered me to come and shoot on his mountain, I didn't hesitate too long. Flocons was just finished and the four tracks were ready to play live with all my synths and drum machines. I asked Florent that I recently met and loved his work, to take care of video. I wanted the shooting to be done in one take, without editing, to keep my performance intact. We only had one shot at sunset and we did it despite the cold and wind! -- About the Shooting Florent used 3 cameras during the show: one on my hands, another in wide shot and the third in motion. In addition to that, some drones shots were done during the performance by Ludovic Roux and Romain Courtaud to enlarge the field of view and capture the mountain tops. During the day, Florent captured moments of life, placing his camera among us or in the middle of the herd. Thanks to him, this video became not only a live shot but a unique piece of life, just one day in this part of the Alps. -- Tech talk Just a quick note for electronic music lovers who want to know more about how this all works. All main musical themes are played by my beloved Vermona Perfourmer as I did during the recording of Flocons. Each chord note is played randomly by one of its four analog voice that I modulate to my wishes! This way, I can adapt the musical intensity of the piece and even change the melodic lines! Thanks to the MPC One, I’m able to send complex MIDI sequences to my Perfourmer and process it with a complete mixing channel and sidechain processors ! My old Analog Rytm takes care of drums, and all this is mixed through the Octatrack which also plays and mangles some backing tracks !! — Finally I would like to thank all the people who helped me to make this video.
