On shore the rules are dictated by the so-called "Box Rule": this is a set of rules that define the design, the sizes to be respected and the limits to the use of automated systems. On the water there are overlaps, crossings and virtual "boundaries" that cannot be crossed. The America's Cup is made of many rules, some are simple, others more complex.
