In this installment of the LibreOffice Calc series with Serge, we take a look at pivot tables. A pivot table is an easy way to group and summarize a larger set of data. The best example I can think of for using a pivot table is creating reports. This was something I did on a regular basis. I would have a large set of data (thousands of rows) that I needed to show in a meaningful, high-level manner so it was understandable and actionable. Data alone isn't particularly useful in many cases. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing however pivot tables provide a simpler, visual approach that makes it more accessible and usable in my opinion.
