There are many ways to make your bike lighter but in this video I am focusing on small and cheap modifications. Separately they may look funny and insignificant but altogether they may make an essential difference. More importantly these changes won’t ruin your pocket and are safe. I don’t recommend buying expensive, ultra-light carbon components because in many cases they are not practical. For starters, going too light can reduce the bike's ride quality which means it will be slower over choppier or abrasive surfaces. Then there are external factors such as the wind or long downhills where the more aerodynamic bike/rider combo wins the race. So before investing thousands of dollars into a new carbon wheelset or feather-weight seatpost from Schmolke please consider the ways discussed in this video.
