In this episode of the CyberGizmo we explore how I use ARM and what my plans are for the network/server architecture for 202. There are many people who elect to buy used and powerful Intel based rack servers for their home labs, but I was concerned about the amount of cooling and power requirements these servers may have. So I started to experiment with ARM based servers in small footprint SoC (Server on a Chip) based machines. These machines offer lower power requirements and lower cooling requirements than their bigger x86 based machines. However they also offer lower performance. So the question I had initially was are these viable alternatives to large full scale Intel Rack servers for home use.
