I'll be comparing two Dyson vacuums at the opposite ends of the price spectrum - the V7 and V11. These two products look very different but there are similarities.
Both are adept at cleaning carpet. The V11 Torque Drive, obviously is better overall since it has more airflow and runs longer, but at the cost of weight and handheld usability.
The V7 doesn't run as long or deep clean as well, but it's much lighter and my choice if you value handheld usability.
Only the V11 is usable on carpet because of the adjustable gates, but I wouldn't endorse either since the cleaning heads lack padding, which could potentially scuff the surface.
Choosing between the two will boil down to this - do you really need a gigantic stick vacuum that will deep clean carpet as well as an upright? Or do you want something lightweight, but not clean as well.
