The 2nd MBSE Summit organised by LieberLieber Software together with the Johannes Kepler University Linz (CDL-MINT) at the International Academy Traunkirchen am Traunsee (June 5-6, 2023) was a great success with more than 80 participants and brought the MBSE community closer together. Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) lends itself to keeping up with the growing complexity in the product life cycle. It manages to keep both cost and innovation pressures under control as well as the growing requirements around safety, traceability and quality. While the afternoon and evening of 5 June were devoted entirely to social interaction, the official programme of the 2nd MBSE Summit in Traunkirchen started on 6 June with the three keynotes by Ed Seidewitz (OMG), Dr Judith Michael (RWTH Aachen) and Dr Tobias Gawron-Deutsch (Robert Bosch AG). Following this, the four breakout sessions formed: Daniel Siegl (LieberLieber): MBSE and Standards - The power of standards: Unleashing the potential of MBSE Florian Wagner (msg Plaut Manufacturing): Safety and security by MBSE - How MBSE supports safety and security in complex systems Christoph Mayr-Dorn (Institute of Software Systems Engineering, JKU Linz): MBSE process and quality assurance guidance Stefan Roth (oose Innovative Informatik eG): MBSE and the agile mindset – Guarantees for successful system development in the age of complexity Planning for a continuation of the event in 2024 has already begun.
