This is a TILT Tutorial on the TILT Dance Move! To clarify, there IS a difference between a tilt & extension. A "tilt" is a "straight-leg" kick, whereas an "leg extension" has a bent-leg entry.

A brief outline of the video:
- stretch your SPLITS! It's very important to have solid splits before learning the tilt. Not only for the flexibility component, but for the mobility, stability, and balance as well.
1. Heel Stretch Method - pull a heel stretch, twist into side stretch/y stand, lean into the barre.
2. Front kick - if turnout isn't your strong suit, this is the way for you!
3. Grand Battement - from the side/turnout position. AKA the og way

I became a cheerleader & dancer at the young age of six. Not gonna lie, the uniforms & the costumes were what originally enticed me...but then I started practicing both, and discovered the Flexibility part of these sports. I realized that I had somewhat of a talent for it, and I continued to work on it for years to come.
As a cheerleader, I'm a flyer, and stunting was always one of my favourite parts of cheer 💝 the DANCE & performing part is also right up there with flying, acro, and stunting!
As far as dance goes, I mostly train Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary. Ironically, even though I’m fairly decent at Cheer/Pom dance...hip hop is my weak link. Definitely not my strong suit. I gotta work on that.
