I've been mentioning Nala as an alternative to Apt for a while but I haven't explained why until now.
Nala is a front-end cli tool that works to manage your software and deb packages on Debian based distros. It's a very easy-to-use cli tool with colors and user friendly paradigms that basically make managing your software via a terminal much nicer.
Nala does have a couple of additional features that I don't have much use for, namely History (which is truncated and generally not very useful) and Fetch (which has generally poor defaults and can slow down your system if you use them improperly.)
