Here's Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever played on the gorgeous new grand piano from Forsyth Music Store at The Christie Hospital in Manchester. It's actually quite late on a Saturday so there wasn't anyone here waiting, but of course the piano was here. Before I get too far, I hope that the song choice does not cause offence. It is a beautiful song, and the piano has such a nice tone, and given there was no one here, I thought I would play it here. I don't think I would have played it if there was anyone here, in case it did upset anyone. Some people think that this was written by Brian May for Freddie Mercury when he was about to die. Actually it was written for the Highlander movie where the main character, who was immortal, had to live with the fact that his wife was going to die. This is played in The Christie Hospital which is one of the leading cancer hospitals and research centres in Europe. Whilst it is a NHS hospital, and all treatment is free - The Christie has a charitable fund that does that extra bit to help its patients.
