The Open Mainframe Mentorship Program is completely remote where students who are often still in a classroom setting get a glimpse of what a working relationship might look like. John Mertic, Director of Program Management for Open Mainframe Project at the Linux Foundation, explains how students can participate in the program. He takes us through the process of how mentees and mentors are paired up and how they determine the deliverables and structure of the mentorship. He goes on to discuss what sort of skills make a successful mentee in order to reap the benefits of the program.
