Join us as we explore a vibrant collection of watercolors featuring a flock of fantastic birds inspired by King Louis the XIV’s Royal Menagerie of Versailles in Jean-Baptiste Oudry’s “Avian Album.” Erica Lawton explores how this album of watercolors was used by the French artist as a reference for paintings, tapestry and furniture during the 18th century in Europe. ‘Creature Feature,’ an online series from the Harvard Art Museums, offers a chance for families to explore magical creatures across the collections through close looking and curious exploration with museum staff.
