The game is about Ratchet and his robot friend Clank who find out that the capital of the planet Kerwan has been destroyed by an army of evil robots under the leadership of Emperor Tachyon. Ratchet and Clank eventually manage to gather their allies, and defeat the evil Emperor Tachyon and his army. As the allies celebrate, Clank returns home to his planet despite the protests of Ratchet. Ratchet hears no more from Clank, and starts looking for him.
