This game... just came outta nowhere. It's very rare you see a studio reveal a trailer for a game as soon as it launches, especially for an unknown project despite being published under Bethesda and Shinji Mikami of all people being on the dev team, the genius mastermind behind Resident Evil 4, Vanquish and Evil Within 1 and 2.
I love action games and I love games with a vibrant colorful artstyle, if Transformers Devastation being one of my all time favorite games is anything to go by. Hi-Fi Rush feels like a game made for me specifically. I especially love the art style and dialogue, it really feels like it's pulled out of my memories watching a Cartoon Network show on a Saturday morning. Chai, the main protagonist gives me Generator Rex vibes and that's a good thing to me.
And the dialogue, I don't even find it (and I hate using this word) "cringe", if anything I find it endearing and fitting with the whole aesthetic, unlike another game that clashes with its aesthetic... I mention this because some people can't tell the difference between genuine heartfelt cheesy dialogue and snarky almost self-deprecating dialogue that doesn't even respect its audience.
I hope the game gets a lot more in depth with the moves and combos, but what I've played so far I was smiling the whole way through. This is the kind of games I want from the industry.
