Justin Bieber returns to the controversial Churchome in Los Angeles The Canadian singer and his wife were spotted at the troubled church which has been plagued with troubles in recent years. The most recent controversy is a lawsuit alleging the church is forcing its employees to give 10% of their wages to the megachurch or risk being fired.
"Rachel Kellogg filed the lawsuit in King County Superior Court last week. In it, she accuses Churchome and leaders Judah Smith, his wife Chelsea Smith, and David Kroll of setting policies and practices such as tithing, which she says she was pressured to do or lose her job", according to Fox News.
Earlier this year, the church rehired pastor Braylon Oliver who had been accused of sexual assault by a former girlfriend. "Churchome stated that Oliver had “demonstrated spiritual and personal growth” and that the church “firmly believed in his restoration and reconciliation", according to The Roys Report.
In 2020, Justin's personal mentor and the church's lead pastor, Carl Lentz was forced to resign after it was discovered he was having an extramarital affair with his nanny. Bieber severed ties with the troubled pastor and distanced himself from the church at the time.
It appears the Bieber's are ready to let bygones, be bygones, with the church and seemed genuinely excited to return to the church they once called home.
