A forge weld is when two pieces of steel are heated to the same temperature and fused together with a little bit of flux. In this example, Marc Maiorana executes the first step of a complicated forge weld, where two separate elements are connected making one. The bar is then re-heated one or two more times and the same process of hammering, cleaning and refluxing is repeated until the two bars are connected.
