McMahon and Nerlich focused on that ground floor living, with a north-facing courtyard tucked away in the corner, bathing the living areas in sunlight all day. The other core feature of the home is the curves, including a curved window, which was done to softly connect rooms. The material palette was kept simple, with a monochromatic palette wedged between a timber floor and a timber ceiling. The courtyard has some darkness in the canopy, along with the window and door frames, providing a touch of contrast.
