Communicating educational neuroscience to teachers
Abstract: Jeremy Dudman-Jones is a secondary school teacher and Assistant Head Teacher in London. He has been interested in how educational neuroscience can support his teaching for many years, and believes the field has relevance for students and parents as well. He is a founder member of the educational neuroscience group Learnus (learnus.co.uk) and has spent 10 years delivering over 120 neuroscience talks and workshops to a range of educational groups from teacher trainees to teachers, senior managers, students and parents. In this Q&A, CEN Director Michael Thomas will chat with Jeremy to find out how he integrates educational neuroscience into his classroom practice, where he accesses evidence, what content he communicates to other teachers, students, and parents – and importantly, what their response usually is.
