A ‘black fungus’ that invades the brain? There have been reports of this in vulnerable Covid-19 patients in India. Mucormycosis is a very rare infection, which is caused by exposure to mucor mould which is commonly found in soil, plants, manure, and decaying fruits and vegetables. It is not a new infection, but doctors in India are seeing a rise in cases among some people who are suffering from coronavirus.
