Almost 1000 Freemen of the City of London took up their ancient right to drive their sheep over the River Thames on Sunday 24th September, to raise money for the Woolmen's Charity Trust.
Chef and Freeman Richard Corrigan led the charge in the first Drive of the day, accompanied by Master Woolman Vincent Kearney and Lord Mayor Locum Tenenshe Sir Andrew Parmley.
They drove their sheep over Southwark Bridge, whilst on the City side of the Bridge a Livery Fair was held, celebrating the ancients skills and trades of the Livery Companies. It also saw businesses who are using wool in new and innovative ways sell their clothing, accessories and gifts to the public.
Farmer Andy Wear demonstrated sheep shearing skills, while children young and old enjoyed the rare breeds.
