The 3-bedroom property had suffered a 1970s medieval makeover, which led to the loss of its original character. Wilko decided on a sympathetic renovation, focusing on energy efficiency and contemporary updates. The floor plan remained mostly unchanged, but a wall separating the kitchen and dining area was removed. Insulation and a vapour barrier enhanced the home's energy efficiency, with 27 solar panels added. Materials were carefully selected to create cohesion, combining modern touches with a nod to the home's mid-century roots, reflecting the Australian style that came after decades of dark Victorian homes.
