Welcome to Gods and Heroes of Ancient Greece, here MyLinda Butterworth of Totally Stories interprets the written word for your listening pleasure. Today's we read two stories 'Europa' and 'Cadmus.' In the story of Europa we find that Eros/Cupid has shot Zeus with one of his arrows and Zeus is now longing for the daughter of King Agenor. Europa goes to the seashore with her friends to pick flowers and enjoy the day. Zeus devises to disguise s himself as a bull so that his wife Hera, does not discover what he is doing and proceeds to endure himself to Europa. When Europa climbs on his back he prances to the seashore and swims all the way to the isle of Crete. Do I have to explain what happens next? Listen on. Cadmus is the brother of Europa and has been sent to find her on his way he stops and talks with the oracle who tells him where he should go and what he should do. When he gets to the spot where the heifer is he finds a dragon but slaying the dragon is not the only thing this young hero must do. Listen on.
