Donald Trump is expected to surrender within days after being charged over a probe into hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump is the first former US President to be criminally indicted.
The specific charges against Trump are not yet known as the indictment remains under seal, but reports indicate he faces more than 30 counts.
Trump, 76, said he was “completely innocent” and accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the Democrat who led the investigation, of trying to hurt his electoral chances.
Prosecutors said they were working to co-ordinate Trump’s surrender, which could happen early next week.
