I stay the night in my off-grid survival cabin during a snowstorm. I am warm and cozy in the safety of my cabin while a blizzard rages outside. The woodstove is going with a hearty meal cooking away, and I pour myself a rye and coke after all the work is done. I go to bed early and can hear the strong wind blasting the cabin all night. By morning the storm is over and can get back to work. I fix up my storage tent that took a beating during the winter then till and plant peas in the garden. I haul the firewood and kindling I cut the day before and stack it in my storage tent. I always try to cut more firewood than I burn, and try to stockpile wood during the warmer months in preparation for next winter. I brought out a variety of tree seeds to scatter around to hopefully grow some new trees around the cabin. I have also planted crabapple and raspberry seeds as well. It was a fairly productive trip to the cabin and I try to do positive things give back to the land which provides for me.
